Our location in Napa

Napa offers a walking-pace life. It’s a week-end destination for the San Francisco Bay Area — people come here to relax, hear the birds and smell the flowers, sip the wine. Many come to Napa to retire. It’s a great spot for a program like ours, offering interesting events and activities and accommodating residents who take their own pace, like our residents.

  • Napa's Main Street

Napa has a small town vibe

With a population of 79,000, Napa has a small-town feeling. Though the program provides rides as needed, the safety of Napa allows our residents to walk or take a bus to their jobs or other appointments or activities if they prefer to do so.

  • Local businesses support jobs

Local businesses are happy to hire Moving Forward residents and many have had Moving Forward employees for years. Our residents are also welcome volunteers for many Napa programs and non-profits.

  • Family and Community join to celebrate Moving Forward Towards Independence's 20th anniversary.

    Napa supports its non-profits

Napa folks are relatively wealthy and they like to share their wealth. They give generously to charities and they donate their time to organizations like Special Olympics, community choral groups, and many others. Our residents benefit because many are participants in these organizations.

  • Napa has a Community College

Napa Valley Community College is any easy drive from the Moving Forward campus. Many classes and programs have interested our residents.

  • Residents love the beauty of the Napa Valley

Hiking in extensive parks is all around. Walking around the beautiful neighborhoods and the nearby downtown is a key fitness activity. Residents in art and photography classes have a lot to appreciate in the Napa Valley.

  • San Francisco and Bay Area events and activities are within easy reach

Our residents enjoy attending sporting events, visiting the hundreds of driving-distance museums, community events, landmarks, beaches, and mountain activities.
