Moving Forward Towards Independence is a residential program offering transitional and independent living support to post-secondary adults with developmental, learning, and autism spectrum disabilities.

Working as a team

After 25 years in operation, we know residents depend on support from many sources.

Long-term community

Moving Forward Towards Independence was founded in 1998. We have 40 residents currently, living on campus and off.

  • We serve adults of all ages.

  • We promote and assist with social experiences.

  • In all tiers, residents are continuously learning life skills, from sweeping to budgeting.

  • Our residents enjoy meaningful volunteer work, supported employment, and competitive employment.

Resident Activities

Our 40 residents are activity enthusiasts. Residents initiate requests for activities. They vote on the movies to go to in a group. Families are invited to host activities. Staff is challenged to set up new and different activities along with old favorites. Activities during the pandemic have been different, and we’re all looking forward to getting back to normal.
