Tier 3. Off-Campus community Living
Community Living is a step towards Independent Living
“Eventually, when the team feels that the resident is ready, he or she graduates to our third tier, our Community Living program.
“Our Community Living residents continue to use services, such as ILS, Independent Living Skills, paid for privately or through the North Bay Regional Center, and all other services that they made use of before.
“For many, Moving Forward can become a lifelong program. Our program does not have any age limits. If the resident thrives in Community Living, they may settle in and stay.
“Right now, we have about 30 folks who live in our community. They live in houses, cottages, and apartments that are as close as next door to the campus, or across the street, or within five blocks of our campus.
“Residents live in their own rental or a family-owned home with roommates or without, they pay for their own groceries and household supplies, and we provide services at their homes.”
