Our Residents

Our residents are building a life-long community for themselves

Our residents are all adults and their ages can range from 18 on up. We hope to offer a life-long program within our capabilities. Our residents have a wide range of neurodiverse diagnoses. We do ask all applicants to be ready to participate in our program.

  • They value friendships and community.

  • They learn the importance of following rules.

  • They follow daily schedules that create a meaningful life.

Most of our residents want the security of stability as well as the challenge of learning to live independently.

  • An interesting job

There’s no instant success. First, you start with basic job-readiness skills. You try out a few job assessments with a job coach. You decide what you like to do and learn the skills to be competitive.

It takes time, our Moving Forward Employment program will support and find employment opportunities.

Some residents attend day programs or volunteer for Napa organizations.

  • A ready-made social life

Our residents benefit from support in making and keeping friends.

Our community is welcoming from the start. Our residents have an enormous capacity to forgive social transgressions.

Residents make friends and join groups. From hiking the Napa trails, to hosting a movie for neighbors, to becoming a couple, social interactions are all around.

  • Self-expression

We offer classes for creatives, like scrapbooking and photography. However, even without classes, we know that our residents are busy creating art.

Writing a play (or two), painting and drawing, creating ceramics, crafts, notecards, cooking, knitting handbags, writing for Momentum, even playing in a Moving Forward garage band — we welcome it all.
