A Napa Police Officer came to Moving Forward to give a "crash course" in bicycle safety. He could not stress enough how important wearing a helmet is, while cycling. Officer Cline went over the proper fit for a helmet, where to buy one, and how often they should be replaced. He discussed where to ride a bike and what side of the street to ride a bike on. The group talked about how to cross a railroad track and how important it is to use the stop light to cross intersections. According to Officer Cline, “safety is first”, and cars cannot see cyclists most of the time. He discussed what to wear at night when riding a bike: reflective clothing. Officer Cline also went over what equipment a bike needs for riding at night: lights and reflectors. This course in bicycle safety, taught by Officer Cline of the Napa Police Department, was an informative and important refresher for our Moving Forward residents.
